His experience allows him to gauge with great accuracy the level of intensity, or lack of it, that is appropriate to his client’s stage of life, state of health, and stage of training. He is in this profession for the long term and it would be hard to think that there would be a more experienced and capable trainer than him in Brisbane.

I have had the great benefit and enjoyment of being trained by John Bawden for the better part of a decade. John has a great capacity to tailor personal training to the needs of busy people and the reality of a person’s circumstances, be they family, social, or work commitments or physical capacity. John is not in the business of setting unrealistic goals.
In the first phase of the training I had with John over a number of years, I succeeded in not only dropping a lot of unwanted weight but bulking up with some healthy toned muscle. The latter part of my training with John, for approximately some five years, was a rehabilitative phase after I succumbed to a work related musculoskeletal injury, which could not be diagnosed for some time, but was causing a lot of pain. John reprogrammed my training and became an integral part of my largely successful rehabilitation and ongoing maintenance. He was present at some consultations with my medical advisers and health professionals and worked with, and not against, the advice of those advisers.
John’s adaptability and realistic approach to attaining goals sets him apart from overzealous personal trainers. John’s personal touch also leads to a friendship which inspires confidence in the advice and training he imparts. My daughters presented me with a Christmas gift voucher for two personal training sessions by Everybody Personal Fitness. My view of Personal Trainers had hitherto been of fitness freaks that try to kill you with physical feats that are beyond human endurance. Being “elderly’ ( I call it “middle aged”) and being built for comfort rather than speed, I had always shunned these activities.
However I reviewed the Everybody Personal Fitness web site and realised John Bawden’s approach was entirely different. John visited me in my office where we had a detailed discussion on my workplace environment, diet, current state of fitness and medical history. I found John has a “scientific” approach to training: he was most helpful on the workplace and dietary issues and took my current state of fitness and medical history into account in planning my exercise regime.
I have now completed several training sessions with John. The results have been quite outstanding. I have lost weight, altered my diet, gained strength and most importantly feel healthier and move much more freely than before the sessions commenced.

A true professional…effective, warm and respectful
I have been trained by John for the last few years. He is a true professional but is also very personal in his approach. For me, John seems to find the right balance in knowing when and how much to push and challenge me and when to simply encourage me to be there.
Finding time to train has often been a challenge for me and John has been highly flexible with training sessions, coming to my workplace when I have been too busy to get to the gym and changing times when possible to ensure that a training session is completed rather than missed. I highly recommend him as a personal trainer. He is very experienced and knowledgeable, effective, warm, respectful and a really nice bloke.
